A Little Bit About the Role: 

As a Senior Product Manager at Telegraph, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and launch of new products from the ground up. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in early-stage startup environments and are ready to roll up their sleeves to build nascent technology. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Design teams to bring innovative product ideas to life, ensuring they meet market needs and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

In this role, you will own the product lifecycle from ideation to launch, manage new feature development, and conduct user experience research (UXR) to gather valuable customer insights. Leveraging design thinking principles, you will empathize with users, define problem statements, ideate solutions, and prototype and test products iteratively. You will also apply lean startup methodologies to validate product ideas quickly, maximize user feedback, and ensure continuous improvement. Your ability to produce detailed product requirement documentation and generate novel product ideas will be crucial to your success. You will be instrumental in shaping the product strategy and roadmap, driving Telegraph’s growth and enhancing our product offerings.

-Lead the end-to-end process of bringing new products from ideation and concept to market, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

New Feature Launches
– Oversee the planning, development, and release of new product features, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Customer UXR
– Conduct user experience research to gather insights, understand customer needs, and validate product ideas.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
– Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Design teams to ensure seamless integration of product features and functionalities.

Product Requirement Documentation
– Draft comprehensive product requirement documents (PRDs) that outline product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Leading Engineering Product Reviews
– Thoughtful review of product requirements closing the feedback loop with engineering in order to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and QA criteria are met.

Product Strategy
– Contribute to the development of the product strategy and roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on customer feedback and business impact.

Market Analysis
– Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

To be successful you must:

Educational Background
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.

Professional Experience
– At least 3 years of experience in product management within early-stage startups and/or fast-paced environments.
– Familiarity with a working structure of engineering, design, product management, operations and product operations teams.

Product Management Skills:
– Proven track record of managing products from ideation to launch (0->1), with a strong understanding of the product lifecycle.
– Creative thinker with a passion for generating and executing novel product ideas. 

Team Collaboration:
– Strong desire to collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Identifying blockers, knowledge gaps and working with the team to keep projects moving.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

Technical Proficiency
– Familiarity with product management tools and methodologies.
– Experience working with engineering teams and understanding technical constraints.
Ability to lead meetings in both engineering and business contexts.

Customer Research
– Experience conducting customer UXR, using both quantitative and qualitative data to inform product decisions and translate insights into actionable product requirements.

Documentation Skills
– Strong ability to produce clear and detailed product requirement documentation.

Collaboration with Designers
– Demonstrated experience working closely with designers in product creation and requirements generation.
