CHICAGO and CARY, NORTH CAROLINA — RailPulse and Telegraph today announced that Telegraph has integrated RailPulse telematics data into Telegraph’s Rail Operating System (ROS), enabling mutual customers to access and operationalize RailPulse railcar telematics data within Telegraph’s workflow platform.
Customers using both RailPulse and Telegraph can leverage RailPulse location, health, and sensor data alongside Telegraph’s shipment visibility, telETAs™, customer support, billing, demurrage management, and other operational workflows within a single operating environment. The integration enables customers to incorporate telematics information into everyday decision-making and business processes across their rail operations.
“As the rail industry continues investing in connected freight technologies, customers increasingly need practical ways to put telematics data to work,” said Harris Ligon, Co-Founder and CEO of Telegraph. “The integration of RailPulse data into our Rail Operating System allows customers to combine telematics insights with operational workflows, helping them improve visibility, utilization, and decision-making across their rail networks.”
Telegraph’s integration reflects the growing demand across the rail industry for actionable telematics data that can be incorporated directly into operational workflows. By integrating RailPulse telemetry into business systems already used by rail shippers, equipment owners, logistics providers, and other rail stakeholders, software providers can help customers move beyond simply collecting data toward improving operations and business outcomes.
“RailPulse’s mission is to accelerate the adoption and practical use of railcar telematics throughout North America,” said David Shannon, General Manager of RailPulse. “A critical part of that mission is ensuring that customers can access RailPulse data through the software platforms they choose to use. We are pleased that Telegraph has integrated RailPulse data and is helping mutual customers derive meaningful operational value from telematics information.”
The announcement also reflects broader industry momentum around the use of telematics to improve rail operations. RailPulse recently announcedthat RailPulse telemetry data will serve as the binding data standard for dispute resolution processes adopted by coalition railroads, including: CPKC, CSX, G&W, IAIS, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, and Watco. Separately, Telegraph has continued to expand telematics-enableddemurrage capabilities within its platform, including solutions that help customers better understand asset movement, dwell events, and operational performance.
Telematics adoption within the North American rail industry remains in the early stages, creating significant opportunities for customers to realize additional value from connected rail assets. By making telematics data more accessible and actionable, integrations such as this help advance the industry’s broader goal of improving rail service, asset utilization, and supply chain efficiency.
